Secretary White Announces Facilities Hours To Change Corresponding With Winter Hours
Secretary of State Jesse White announced a program aimed at better serving customers during winter hours.
Beginning the week of Monday, December 3, 2007, through Saturday, March 1, 2008, facilities statewide will be open an hour earlier one day a week. Late hours for facilities previously open at night one day a week will be eliminated during this time.
"Changing the hours give us an opportunity to serve the public while it's still light out," White said. "We hope it makes it easier for them to take care of their business with us especially during the holiday season."
In the Chicago area, facilities that are open Tuesday through Saturday will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and from 8 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. the other days of the week. On Saturday they will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., one hour earlier.
Chicago area facilities that are open Monday through Friday will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday and from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. the other days of the week.
Downstate facilities open Tuesday through Friday will now be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Saturday facilities will open at 7 a.m., an hour earlier, and close at noon.
