Jesse White Announces Corporations and LLCs Can Now File Formation Online

Secretary of State Jesse White announced a new service that will now give new businesses an opportunity to incorporate or form a limited liability company (LLC) within 24 hours via the Internet.

Those wishing to incorporate or form an LLC can visit www.CyberdriveIllinois.com to file Articles of Incorporation or Articles of Organization, either standard or series, within twenty-four hours through an expedited process.

This new Internet service, which was launched on October 29th, has been utilized by 192 corporations and 155 LLCs so far. Previously, corporations and limited liability companies could only be formed on an expedited basis through the mail, fax filing system or in person by visiting one of the Secretary of State's Business Services offices.

"We are pleased offer businesses another avenue that makes their transactions more efficient and convenient through the use of the Internet," White said. "We know that saving them time, energy, and paper, as well as giving them around the clock access, is a real benefit."

During fiscal year 2007, 41,123 new corporations and 24,253 new limited liability companies were formed in Illinois.

New corporations or LLCs can pay their start up fees via Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express card, or using an e-check.

In addition to now having the ability to form a new corporation or LLC online, the Secretary of State's office also offers Internet services for Uniform Commercial Code filings as well as for the filing of business corporation or LLC Annual Reports and the purchase of Certificates of Good Standing for both corporations and LLCs.
