The Office of the Secretary of State recognizes the need for the legal protection that equal employment opportunity laws provide to employees and job applicants.

The EEO Officer works directly for Secretary White and is responsible for the overall development and administration of the Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Programs. The EEO Officer also serves as the Agency 504 Coordinator for all related matters concerning internal compliance with the requirements of Section 504 of the 1973 Rehabilitation act.
